Oils / Plein Air

Painting with oils is an exercise of deep concentration for me because I tend to mix them a lot more than I would watercolor paint.

I use M. Graham and Co. oil paints because I like the golden colour of their walnut oil content. They have lead me to cut solvent use almost completely.

I paint on hardboard panels and sign painter’s board because it is smooth and allows paint flow and visible brushstrokes. When I paint outdoors I usually do 3 or 4 small paintings.
